Balancer Minerals
The Balancer Minerals are a family of minerals designed to be fed in mixed rations to cattle in confinement. They are designed to balance out the macro and micro minerals, as well as vitamins of typical grain, forage and by-product rations. These products are designed and formulated for use with by-product feeds, such as distillers grains, gluten feed or other moderate protein level feeds. Most rations that utilize one of the available by-products will have ample protein and phosphorus, so the nutrient levels of the Balancer Minerals reflect these assumptions and focus on meeting calcium needs that usually are deficient in these types of rations. The Balancer Minerals are to be fed at a level between 0.33 lb and 0.50 lb per head per day to provide all the necessary nutrients and performance enhancing options. Because of the low inclusion rate and nutrient density of the minerals, they provide a very cost effective means of supplementation.
The Balancer Mineral family consists of the following minerals:
Starter Balancer: Designed for use in newly received or weaning cattle for the first 28 to 45 days.
Backgrounder Balancer: Designed for use in grower type rations that have higher levels of forages.
Finisher Balancer: Designed for high energy finishing rations.
Sick Pen Mineral: This mineral is not a balancer type mineral, but is designed as a form of additional supplementation for cattle in confinement during the first few days after arrival until all cattle are readily consuming ration from the bunk.
